Aunty Maria, the heart behind La Malero, has been quietly creating safe and homely spaces for working women in Goa. It all began at her ancestral home in Saipem, Candolim, a property held by her family for over a century. With her warmth, practicality, and strong values, she transformed part of their home into a peaceful PG retreat called the Penthouse and Upper Room.

Encouraged by the trust she earned and the growing demand, La Malero expanded to Altinho, Panaji in 2024 — and now, a third location near the iconic Panjim Church is being opened. Aunty Maria continues to be a guiding presence, making sure each La Malero home stays clean, safe, and respectful — just the way she’d want it for her own family
